Why this number is real
Most calls to small businesses go unanswered at least some of the time: on a job, after hours, phone in the truck. The part that costs you is what happens next. The large majority of callers who reach voicemail do not leave a message. They hang up and call the next business in the search results, and that job is gone before you even see the missed-call notification.
The calculator only counts the jobs you would have closed at your own close rate. It does not count the review that customer would have left, or the neighbor they would have referred.
